The foundation of an engineering student is laid with his/her knowledge in the field of Basic Science which includes Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Mechanical Engineering is the old and broad discipline involves the application of the principle of the physics for analysis, design manufacture and maintenance of mechanical system. Mechanical engineers are employed in an enormous range of technical areas including Acoustics, Mechanics, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, Automatic controls, Computer-Aided Design, Energy Management, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Robotics, Kinematics, Turbo Machinery etc. The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides the students an appropriate platform for enhancing their basic knowledge skills in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as well as train them in professional machine handling and industrial etiquettes.



The diploma course in Mechanical Engineering was started in 2012 here. The department provides well-equipped labs to make the students excel in the field of Mechanical Engineering and it meet the requirements of diploma course as framed by West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill DevelopmentIt has qualified and experienced faculty and staff. Mechanical Engineering is an interdisciplinary, challenging, rewarding, and highly respected profession.
